Church Planting Partnership Opportunity
The Pathway is a brand new church plant just south of Seattle in Tacoma, WA. Centered on the gospel of Jesus and expressed primarily through Community Groups, The Pathway is seeing God's grace change lives for His glory. In order for any church plant to survive, thrive and multiply in a significantly unchurched culture like the Pacific Northwest they need committed partners to walk with them through the process.
Bobby & Kelli Higginbotham, North American Mission Board missionaries, and their family will be in the Williamson County area October 16-25, 2010 sharing about what God is doing in Tacoma. If you are seriously interested in exploring a church planting partnership in the Northwest, they would love to visit with you and your church.
For more information, contact Bobby Higginbotham at: (425) 478-6628
Are you aware that you could have a “real live missionary” speak in your church and share what God is doing in the “ends of the earth”?
The Events team of the International Mission Board would like you to know that there are several international missionaries who are, or will be, stateside in Texas throughout 2010 and available to speak in churches.
Here’s how it works:
First 5th Sunday World Hunger Day!
In Conjunction with Texas Hope 2010, the World Hunger Offering is asking that churches remember the offering during months that contain 5 Sundays.

Advocates will be contacting churches in the area to offer help with offering promotion, materials, help build database of who is promoting the offering in the churches, etc. If you know of someone you feel would have a heart for hunger ministry in your area, please contact Joyce Gilbreath at 214-828-5172 or Joyce.Gilbreath@bgct.org

The Kitchen Magician will give 10% of the total love offering collected to a hunger relief ministry. If your church or church-related organization supports a hunger relief ministry on a regular basis then the 10% will go towards that ministry. This could be anything from a local Christian-based food pantry (even your own church's food pantry) or another ministry that exists to support the relief of hunger in Central Texas. If you do not have a ministry that you support, then the 10% will go towards a ministry of The Kitchen Magician's choosing.

Your Church Can Help
Habitat for Humanity provides their construction crew with a meal on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday build days. Would your church help them honor their efforts by providing one of these meals? It’s a great opportunity for our community to support the volunteers who give of their time to build homes for deserving families.
Food providers traditionally provide an entrée, a side item and a dessert. Habitat provides drinks and paper products, so all you have to do is provide the food. Volunteers are happy to have something as simple as sandwiches, chips and cookies. It is up to you to decide the menu. You can deliver your meal to the build site and help serve volunteers or the lunch donation can be picked up and delivered to the site.
If you believe your church would be willing to support this mission with a lunch donation, please consider running the following in your weekly bulletin or newsletter.
Help Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County support volunteers. Would your Sunday school class, small group, prayer circle, or youth group be willing to provide lunch to Habitat construction volunteers on Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday?

The Volunteers Organizations Assisting in Disaster Needs Your Help! The VOAD is a network of religious and other non-profit organizations that are prepared to participate in relief efforts that might be needed in case of natural disaster. VOAD works in conjunction with Williamson County, FEMA and the American Red Cross by providing a list of contact names/churches/ organizations willing to volunteer as ‘first responders’ to help those with immediate and long-term needs as a result of declared disasters in our community and surrounding counties.
In the short term, members typically have an ability to provide temporary parking and staging areas, temporary shelter, services or supplies. Long term assistance is usually in the form of case management, help with rebuilding or supplies.
The VOAD is looking for a three (3) year commitment from faith based organizations that are willing to commit resources (personnel, funds or equipment) to meet the needs of people affected by disaster, without regard to race, creed, gender or age. A list of help and helpers, in each and every corner of Williamson County, is currently being constructed into one database. If you, your church or non-profit organization is interested in becoming a VOAD volunteer,

An Opportunity to Serve in Romania Following a mission trip to Romania, Stan Ray and his wife established a non-profit charity, Emanuel Agriculture Development, for the purpose of supporting the ministry of a private Christian University in Oradea, Romania. Their objective is to establish a formal college-level agribusiness and economic development program to help the Romanian people prosper in the free market economy. By teaching modern business principles and practices, but in the context of agriculture, people in rural communities throughout Romania will learn how to establish commercially-viable farming operations that provide economic stability and prosperity for their families, their communities and their country. and The Restorative Justice Ministries of North America Welcome Back Ministry connects the men and women released from prison as well as their families with churches across Texas and the United States. Every year this ministry impacts about 50,000 of the70,000 men and women released from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Over the past years, it has been discovered that out of the nearly 150 men released daily from the Huntsville prison, less than 10 are connected with a local church. As volunteers meet daily with these families, they are discovering that many are willing to give a local church a chance and others are willing to start some type of Bible study group in their homes.
