The WBA is committed to developing effective leaders in its member churches. We have a variety of training options to accommodate your schedule and particular need-half day, one day, evening, monthly, and long term. The WBA deploys its own staff, WBA pastors and lay people, and outside leadership experts to bring quality training to you and your church.

WBA Leadership Institute - for Key Leaders and Church Planters

The purpose of the WBA Leadership Institute is to provide practical, intensive training for key leaders of churches in the Williamson Baptist Association and identify and develop prospective church planters who will start new churches.

Special Training Events

The WBA schedules at least six special training events each year-three in the spring and three in the fall. These events address specific church needs as revealed in surveys and evaluations. Training events have included the topics of assimilation, mobilizing volunteers, mentoring, process mapping, church finances, missions mobilization, reintegration, evangelism, demographic mapping, and pastoral counseling. We also publicize additional conferences and network with other providers to bring you the training you need.

Marriage Retreats for Staff and Spouses

The ministry is stressful and inexorable in its constant demands. The WBA facilitates and funds marriage retreats for pastors and church staff and their spouses to provide opportunities for fellowship, learning and relaxation. If you would like to go on a retreat, please contact the Director.
